Monique grew up in the border town of McAllen, TX, and she speaks and writes Spanish fluently.
Although not originally from Tyler, Texas, she moved here immediately after graduating from law school because Tyler, Texas felt like home.
After graduating from high school, Ms. Hammond attended Duke University on a full academic scholarship, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Chemistry.
She then went on to graduate from Baylor University School of Law.
While attending law school, Ms. Hammond was on the Dean's List, in the Order of the Barristers, was awarded Best Brief in her Appellate Advocacy Class, was chosen to be on the National Moot Court Competition Team for IT and Privacy Law, and was on the Board of the Women's Legal Society.
Additionally, she clerked for the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas, Atlas, Hall, & Rodriguez, LLP in McAllen, TX, and the Law Offices of Clint James, PC in Tyler, Texas.
Upon graduation, Ms. Hammond moved to Tyler, Texas, and joined the Law Office of Clint James, PC, as an associate attorney where she practiced the same areas of law she does now. In 2020, Ms. Hammond founded Hammond Law Firm, PLLC, where she utilizes her education, experience, and expertise to advise clients.
Monique enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, reading fiction novels, investing in real estate, and spending time with her husband Patrick and their sons James and Luke.
